State Tax Credits
The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development has awarded Habitat Choptank with state tax credits. Tax credits serve as incentives for individuals and businesses to financially support costs of approved projects while decreasing their tax obligation. For more information, click here.
We have used our current allocation of tax credits. However, we may have the opportunity to apply for additional credits. If you or your business would like to utilize credits, please let us know as additional donor interest can help to support our re-application.
Stock
An increasing number of people are choosing to make gifts of stock, bonds or mutual funds. A gift of stock is a great way to help Habitat Choptank build affordable homes and as an added benefit, the full value of your gift is tax deductible

Land
We accept donations of land in the form of a single lot or acreage for sub-division. If you or someone you know has property to donate, please email us or call 410-476-3204.

* Habitat Choptank welcomes partnerships with individualsl, corporation, small business, community groups, faith based organizations, foundations or a combination of these sources to help make home ownership possible for more working families. House sponsorship includes the donation of financial support, materials, and volunteer labor.
Habitat Choptank is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization -- donations to which are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
A copy of Habitat Choptank's current financial statement is available upon request. Documents and information submitted to the State of Maryland under the Maryland Charitable Solicitations Act are available from the Office of the Secretary of State, State House, Annapolis, MD 21401 for the cost of copying and postage.
