SINCE 1992
25 in 5 is a 2.5 million dollar program to enable more low-income working families in Dorchester and Talbot counties to make a better future for themselves through home ownership. In 2010, and after 18 years of service, Habitat Choptank completed its 50th home which was purchased by Habitat partner Rowena Potter.
Over the next five years, through 2015, Habitat Choptank will serve at least 25 families, at a cost of $100,000 for land and construction materials for each new home. These will be sold at no profit with interest-free mortgages to deserving Habitat partners.
Many of our working neighbors in the Choptank region continue to live in substandard housing. This includes individuals like Rowena who, if given the opportunity, are willing to work hard to improve their own lives through home ownership.
