St. Michaels Faith Build

Habitat for Humanity Choptank has started construction on a seven-home project in the Brooks Lane/Chester Park neighborhood of St. Michaels. The fourth home to be built there will be “The House That Faith Built.” We call this a Faith Build home because its construction will pull together churches and their congregations, and other people of faith and their friends in the Bay Hundred/Easton/Oxford area to complete this home.

Shavonte Greene has completed the requirements for home ownership with Habitat Choptank – “sweat equity” hours, savings and education courses – and will be able to call “The House that Faith Built” her home. Shavonte is a single mom to two active boys, Shawn and Nakhi and works full time at Londonderry in Easton. Imagine the joy she will experience when she receives the keys to a house she can call her own in the town where she grew up.

There are many ways you can help make this a reality for Shavonte and her boys. So the question is…

How Will You Put Your Faith Into Action?

Volunteer

Join the construction crew, provide lunches or coffee on building days, provide lunchtime music ministry at the build location, engage your youth group or young people to get involved… There are so many ways to volunteer.

Pray

Pray for us at the job site or in your regular worship service, remembering Habitat’s challenging but fulfilling mission, our families, volunteers and staff.

Donate

Raise funds for our Faith Build effort, or make a personal contribution to help finance the cost of construction. Habitat and Shavonte appreciate all levels of support!
